Magic City SC Faces Tough Challenge as Fayetteville Fury Dominates NISL Doubleheader

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Magic City SC encountered a formidable opponent in Fayetteville Fury in today's National Indoor Soccer League doubleheader, with both the Women's and Men's teams conceding to the Fury's relentless offensive prowess. The Women's game concluded with a lopsided scoreline of 11-1 in favor of Fayetteville, while the Men's team faced a tough 11-2 defeat.

In the Women's game, Fayetteville Fury set the tone early, securing a lead with goals from Maddie Capel, Anna Boda, Olivia Bronson, Shannon Leghart, and Rebekah Furr. The relentless attack continued throughout the game, resulting in a decisive 11-1 victory for Fayetteville.  Magic City's Alanna Dineen scored the first ever goal for the Women's team.


The Men's team from Magic City SC faced a similar challenge as Fayetteville Fury showcased exceptional skills with goals from Rosendo Sierra-Flores, Axcel Martinez Cuello, Eli Garner, Wissem Obeid, and others. The final score of 11-2 highlighted the Fury's offensive prowess and defensive strength.  Magic City's Orlando Gomez scored the first Men's goal in team history in the 2nd quarter.


"We faced a tough opponent in Fayetteville Fury today, and they demonstrated their prowess on the field. Our players gave their best effort, but the Fury's performance proved too formidable," said Magic City SC Head Coach Jennifer Pfeiffer. "We will regroup and focus on areas for improvement as we prepare for our upcoming matches."

Key highlights from the Women's game included Olivia Bronson's hat-trick and Shannon Leghart's brace, while in the Men's game, multiple players contributed to the scoreline, providing moments of excitement for the fans.
